We went there on a Friday night for dinner. I was looking forward to try the pigeon dish.
We had a starter with some ham and salami cuts. That was just ok. Nothing special, but not bad.
We ordered to dishes, for my wife the boar ragu, that was good and with very good depth of flavour.
Myself I had the pigeon with the olive sauce. And that was a very nice experience, the sauce with rosemary and olive oil where the pigeon was cooked was amazing. The pigeon itself I can describe as a lean duck.

We came specially from Rome to this restaurant to look for the best pasta carbonara. I can officially tell you this is the best pasta carbonara I ate. We also had the beef fillet and it was just mind blowing. I can’t recommend any more on this place, it just so good I wanna live in their kitchen

La Palomba came highly recommended by a long time friend and visitor to Orvieto and it did not disappoint. When you are standing of the apex mountain of the most amazing Italian dish you have eaten and you look up you will realise there is a higher apex where they are serving the tagaliatelle alla “Don Marcello”. You simply must try it.

Nice place with outdoor seating available. I tried a local dish—pigeon in olive sauce. It was a small portion but very delicious and flavorful. My family also enjoyed their meals. The service was okay—don’t expect smiles or warmth. It felt strictly business, and at times, it seemed like the staff didn’t enjoy being there.

It’s always a big pleasure for my tummy every time I return to Palomba. The food is consistently delicious, and the staff are always warm and welcoming. In the summer, I especially love sitting at the outdoor tables surrounded by the beautiful flowers on the walls — it adds such a charming touch. Thank you, Palomba, for staying true to yourself and not changing over the years. Please never change!

When in Orvieto this is a must reserve. We visit the city 2-3 times a year and La Palomba is always on our reservation list. Great traditional food. Friendly staff and a guaranteed good quality meals. If you don’t reserve it will likely be full!

We were recommended by locals and could not have been happier with this recommendation. The owners, the gentleman serving the tables, and the food were all excellent. And I must say the house wine, which is bottled in labeled under the restaurant brand, a Sangiovese, has been the best housewife we’ve had throughout our trip to Italy. Would recommend and would return.

4.8/5 (5/5 food; 5/5 service; 4/5 atmosphere). Beautiful restaurant which was advised to me from the michelin guide. We walked in to book as it was impossibile to get them on the phone. Nonetheless, food was excellent. Very traditional home style cooking, simole but amazing ingredients. Good wine list, althiugh could be better. Staff were very friendly and quick and helpful. Overall had a very good evening.

Exceptional meal in the heart of Orvieto!
You can see why this restaurant has been Michelin-rated every year since 2017. The service is exceptional, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is lively and authentic.
We had the salsiccia e pane to start, along with an antipasto misto. We were surprised to see that the sausage was served raw, but we were adventurous and dove right in. It was excellent!
The "Don Marcello" pasta was absolutely delicious, as was the cingiale (stewed chunks of perfectly cooked wild boar).
The pana cotta was also excellent, the perfect finish to a superb meal.
